At our sober living homes for men in Los Angeles, we incorporate the entire family into the structured recovery process. From Albuquerque, New Mexico, Robert came to Maverick House in 2019 to seek treatment and has been committed to recovery since. Thereafter, Robert has had experience fostering recovery within the New Life and AA community in many different capacities. He strives to utilize this experience to create an environment conducive to long term success and sobriety.
He is a clinical instructor at UCLA, and has been selected to be on the list for Southern California Super Doctors for 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015. Dr. Lichtman brings his extensive experience with addiction psychiatry to serving the young men of Maverick House. At Maverick House, in addition to strengthening life skills, growing community, and developing character, our young men have the opportunity to participate in a number of curated higher education opportunities. Proudly providing a community-driven, structured approach to sobriety for young men and transforming families lives in the South Bay for over 35 years.
Family Program
Everything from traditional college programs to professional certifications and trade schools, we help support each young man to identify, pursue and achieve their dreams. Dr. Josh Lichtman is an experienced psychiatrist who has been practicing for close to two decades.

Psychiatrists, facilitators, and educators are among the professionals who partner with our sober living homes in Los Angeles. Many of our partners have worked with us for several years, and all are considered part of the New Life family. Sebastian has been participating in drug and alcohol treatment and recovery for over a decade, and has a passion for assisting people as they work through areas of life similar to the ones that he has struggled with. Sebastian has worked with Maverick House in a variety of roles, and spent time both directing the houses and focusing on the alumni, as well as working with the clinical team at Clear Recovery Center. In the early 1990s, many families of teenagers and young men approached Maverick House to help address their son’s addictions.
Robert is not only a group facilitator, but also a life coach and sponsor for many within the recovery community at large, whilst also pursuing his degree in International Studies and Japanese Language at CSU Long Beach. He has worked in nearly all roles of residential treatment including primary counselor, case manager, admissions director, business development, clinical director and executive director. Irina Jodzio is the Parent Intensive and Family Group Facilitator at Maverick House. Irina has an extensive background working with young adults and their families, and has been participating in the Maverick House community for many years, helping the young men recover. In addition to our recovery staff, we have partnered services with specialists to provide the best treatment for young men in recovery.
Maverick House was relocated to Artesia Blvd. in Los Angeles, California in 1987 to continue to serve men in recovery.
